Luxurious Macaroni and Cheese.

First of all slice bacon into small chunks. Furthermore slice a leek or two depending on your taste for leeks. When both are prepared fry the bacon off to begin with. Then after a couple of minutes add the leeks. Fry until the leeks are soft and then turn the pan down low, then in a separate pan boil macaroni pasta, although if you don’t want or don’t have, any other pasta will do.

Creating a white sauce.

Step 1 – Make a roux, which is 25 grams of butter melted into a pan, and then add 25 grams of flour. Cook together for 2 minutes. If you don’t have scales which most students don’t. It is roughly 2 and a half tablespoons of flour and then one and a half table spoons of butter.

Step 2 – Add 600ml of milk, then bring to the boil. Keep Stirring until it becomes a smooth sauce.

Step3 – Allow to simmer for 8-10 minutes.

Optional Step 4 – At this point I like to add cheese to create an extra thick cheesy sauce.

Once this is all ready mix all the ingredients together and place in a baking dish. Then sprinkle cheese over and cook in the oven at 180 degrees for 40 minutes. After it’s crisp on the top, take it out and enjoy! Again this meal can be portioned up and saved for later in the week. Just microwave it until piping hot.
