As a student going to the theatre is usually the last thing that you want to do.  In my mind it usually involves a bunch of men in tights singing songs that my parents have on their YouTube playlist.  But after checking out these theatre listings you will definitely want to check these outrageous plays out.

Tis Pity She’s A Whore

This very vivid Jacobean play showcases a brother and sister’s incestuous relationship.  As they slowly and passionately descend into hell, this provocative play also plays with the ideas of religion and corrupt morality in this incredibly sexy and fascinating production.

This completely brand new production combines Shakespeare with sixties rock n roll in a science-fiction musical that is going to leave your mouth wide open the whole time or make you what to bump and groove in the aisles.

The Laramie Project

This play is a real life portrayal of Matthew Shepard, a gay student at Wyoming in Laramie who was viciously beaten to death while tied to a fencepost on October 7th 1998. The play will also feature the real life investigation that took place after his death.

The Diary of Anne Frank

Anne Frank is a story about a Jewish girl who in 1945 courageously confronted the horrors that surrounded her with wit and literature. The play shows the lives of 8 people hiding from the Nazis in a storage attic, it captures the realities of their everyday existence and the fear they felt regularly. This play will leave your breathless with delight as you witness history coming to life.

Sitting Pretty

This is a bitter sweet play chronicling the lives of two middle aged sisters, Nancy and Nina.  Nancy sees an advertisement at the National Gallery café looking for life models she decides to try it out, and then the mayhem ensues. The production promises to be funny and at timestouching.
