The Isle of Wight festival has been going for 50 years and this lineup looks like its best yet!
This year is a special one; it marks the 50th anniversary of the prestigious Isle of Wight festival. With decades of previous line ups to vouch for its fame and fun, we’re here to bring you the details.
It goes without saying that the Isle of White festival is one of the greats. With 23 new acts announced as additions to the anniversary, it’s looking like the 50th is going to be one of the biggest weekends in their history.
Held in Seaclose Park, Newport from 21st to the 24th of June, the festival boasts a huge crowd guaranteed to bring energy and excitement to the headline acts of this year. Those headline acts being Depeche Mode, The Killers, Kasabian and Liam Gallagher.
However, this is not a headline announcement. We’re highlighting the talented acts added to the line-up in the past few days, many of whom are veterans of the music scene. to compare, some are relatively fresh on the scene but are making tidal waves.
So who’s performing?
Perhaps one of the biggest draws for many Isle of Wight goers this year is the incredible Camilla Cabello. With her single Havana staying at number 1 in the UK, she is certainly a huge act. Impressively, her debut album has peaked at number 1 on ITunes in an astounding 99 countries.
Another two big name additions to the list are Chase and Status. As one of the biggest UK groups of the last 10 years, who have been playing every major festival since their rise to prominence. The second is Nile Rogers and CHIC. Nile a prolific songwriter, having collaborated with huge artists such as David Bowie and Madonna. He and CHIC have been touring major festivals over the last half decade, which includes a headline slot at Bestival under their belt.
British music veterans Soul II Soul, performers of the club classic Back to Life are also headed to the Isle of Wight. They shared their excitement about it.

For those of you looking for something a little more rock based for the 50th anniversary of Isle of Wight festival you can rest easy. UK festival veterans Feeder return after their 2016 headlining of the Big Top stage.
“We headlined the big top in 2016 after almost a four-year hiatus and the atmosphere was electric. It’s great to be invited back, especially with it being the 50th Anniversary year. IOW has always been one of our favourite UK festivals to play and this year’s line-up is a cracker. See you there!”
That’s not all!
But that isn’t all of the guitar fuelled fun that this year’s Isle of Wight has in store for you! The festival is also bringing 1977 cult classic The Skids. Their famous track Into The Valley has inspired artists such as Green Day and even their follow performers at this years festival Manic Street Preachers.
Other huge pop stars are also coming to the Isle of Wight Festival. With Jessie J and Rita Ora added to the line up, we see the kind of gigantic house hold names the festival is bringing to its 50th anniversary.
With the golden theme of this year’s Isle of Wight festival, we expect to see many of you covered in all things glitter and gold dancing to these fantastic acts.
