Rapper, poet, journalist, historian, artist and all round bright spark, the diversely talented Akala is set to ignite the stage at The Social Club in Southampton on the 20th November. The artist’s prowess in varied fields is enough to make anyone feel inadequate, and just when you think you can’t feel any more amateurish in light of the mans talents, have faith – you can. His music itself is an impressive composite of intelligence and artistry that not only entertains the masses, but enlightens them on innumerable subjects, many of which are areas of political dispute such as class struggle and racism. The rappers expertise have not gone unnoticed, his music earning him a Bafta as well as Best Hip Hop Artist at the MOBO awards back in 2006.

The lyrical powerhouse Akala will be beginning his eighth UK tour come November, promoting his seventh Album Knowledge Is Power Vol II that is on sale and available for download as we speak. Beginning today in Southampton 13th November, his tour will begin at The Social in Southampton’s Bedford Place at 21 Lower Banister St., the building formerly home to RoXX and Aura.Buy Tickets
The tour itself will comprise of 16 cities around the UK, beginning in Southampton before moving onto Falmouth, Preston, Leeds, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Wolves, Swansea, Manchester, London, Nottingham, Brighton, Bristol and finally Cardiff on the 5th December before hastily beginning his Australia tour come the 8th of December.
