Hampshire’s Blissfields festival is back at Vicarage Farm, near Winchester on the 1st and 2nd July 2016. This year’s line-up includes the likes of headliners Dizzee Rascal, Everything Everything and Norman Jay MBE to name a few of the 70+ named acts to this ever growing festival with more artists still being announced. The weekend’s theme is ‘house parties’ so grab your best mates, a weekends worth of booze and head on down, think old school slumber parties, mix tapes and 90s raves. Be quick however as tickets are selling twice as fast as last year with only a limited amount still available.
If a full weekend is a struggle day tickets are still on sale or if you fancy something a little more luxury the event is hosting boutique camping and Gypsy Bowtop Caravans if a weekend of traditional festival slumming it isn’t your cup of tea. They really have catered for everyone in their usual individual and quirky style.
Entry into the festival is permitted on Thursday 20th June but an extra day ticket must be purchased at entry into the site alongside the weekend camping ticket. Blissfields has grown hugely from its humble beginnings as a one day, one stage event back in 2001 to a three day, six stage festival bringing in not just local indie talent but attracting some of the biggest names the industry has to offer competing with some of the biggest festivals the UK hosts.
‘However it’s not all about the music, sample the food and drinks around the site, soak in the art and installations, laugh at the comedy, crash out to a late night film, make something you never dreamt of in the Craft Area and chill, simply relax in the stunning landscape.’
So even if you’re taking a break from the partying you can indulge in some retail therapy, explore the site and mentally prepare yourself for the night ahead.
Tickets are available at the Blissfields website, blissifleds.co.uk ranging from a weekend ticket of £95 to day tickets of £50-60. Day tickets are available from early April so keep checking the website for ticket availability and release dates. Weekend tickets are already on sale so get them while you can, grab your sleeping bag and wellies and get ready for a weekend of big acts in the sun (hopefully, British weather allowing).
