Australian band DMA’s have unveiled their new single ‘Dawning’ which has certainly not disappointed fans after their long wait for new material.
DMA’s who are composed of Tommy O’Dell, Matt Mason, and Jonny Took together have made a strong return with a tune that illustrates the band’s outstanding song-writing which offers a melody that clashes stylistically for the purpose of creating a wider meaning to the music.
Vocalist Tommy O’Dell, said: “We’re giving people the opportunity to decide what the song means to them. We wanted the song to convey a dark message but at the same time create a piece of music that sounds uplifting and hopeful.”
‘Delete’ was a stand-alone flawless piece of music and was recognised, particularly in Britain, as the band’s breakthrough single. The song itself went gold in Australia and their cover of the classic noughties Cher hit ‘Believe’ went viral on social media providing the band with an ever-growing fan base worldwide.
O’Dell’s song-writing ability is striking a cord with their fans and are definitely cementing a reputation of a live band not to be missed. They are currently recording their new album which is set to be released in 2018.
DMA’s return to the UK this winter as main support for The Kooks arena tour and have also added their own headline shows at London’s Heaven on Wednesday 22nd November and Motherwell’s Centre on Wednesday 29th November.
