Ed Harcourt is a seasoned and accomplished singer songwriter with 7 previously released albums, numerous other singles and plenty of compilations. He has worked with the likes of Heavenly Recordings and EMI Music and his newest album Furnaces has been heralded as one of his most ambitious pieces to date. Harcourt is set to release track Loup Garou as a single with Polydor Records on November 18th 2016.
Harcourt was born in Lewes, East Sussex. Before going solo he was a musician in a band called Snug, whom had worked on 2 albums and a few singles before finally dissolving. He spent his time honing his own musical talents from that point onwards and finally released his debut album Maplewood in 2000. Harcourt has released multiple albums and singles since his debut, one of which was nominated for a Mercury Prize Award. He has toured with bands like R.E.M. and Snow Patrol, worked with artists like Lana Del Ray and Beth Ditto and even co-wrote and produced an album for Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
Furnaces is his latest masterpiece, released earlier this year on August 19th. The album was produced by Flood, who are known for working with musical greats like The Smashing Pumpkins, Nine Inch Nails and 30 Seconds to Mars. The album features 12 tracks of pure rock supremacy which has been referred to as ‘Flaming Greatness’ and ‘A Gnarled Monster’.
Harcourt is to appear in Southampton on 9th November alongside Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats as part of a nationwide tour. Don’t miss him at the O2 Guildhall next month. For further tour dates, see below.
