Foo Fighters are set to release their next big project on September 15th called “Concrete and Gold” in collaboration with pop music producer Greg Kurstin.

The album will be as creative as it is hard hitting, and Grohl is set to make another classic with the bands hard drum patterns, melodies, cool rifts and solos.

The band always looks for challenges when they are writing new music and that hasn’t changed with this, their ninth upcoming album. David Grohl said “We’ve never worked with a pop producer. So I think maybe Greg is the guy that we ask to be our producer.”

Grohl got the idea of making their new album together with a pop music producer because he wanted a record that sounds like “Motorhead’s version of Sgt Pepper….. or something like that.”

Foo Fighters have already released their first single back in June called “Run” which was praised by Music Week, calling it a “classic” and The Times by saying it was “Epic”.

The pop producer has worked with a lot of famous artist that includes Adele, Sia and even Pink. Since becoming good friends with Foo Fighter’s front man, Kurstin didn’t refuse the project.

Grohl first impression of Kurstin’s music was very impressing with him saying, “It blew my mind. It was so much more sophisticated than anything I’d ever heard and I became obsessed.”

Darrel Thorp who was worked with Grammy winner Beck and Radiohead will be mixing and engineering the album which ensures that the band and album is in safe hands.

After Foo Fighters recorded and released “Sonic Highways”, broke some bones during the tour and packed stadiums and arenas they are now set to do something else.

After winning all of their awards and selling millions of records, Grohl and the band will bring a gang of the world’s best rock n roll bands together for 12 hours of non-stop 100% music at Cal Jam 17 in Glen Helen Regional Park San Bernardino, CA.

The band are saying that they want to throw the ultimate “backyard party for 50,000 people” and it’s almost like their way of celebrating music and their most ambitious album yet.

The event starts at 11:00am and the music starts at 12:00pm and for those of you that want to come along, go to for more information.

Some of the names included in the festival are Queens of the Stone Age, The Kills, Liam Gallagher and many more.

“Concrete and Gold” will be released by Columbia Records and it is now available for pre-order now on:

“I wanted it to be the biggest sounding Foo Fighters record ever. To make a gigantic rock record but with Greg Kurstin’s sense of melody and arrangement… Motorhead’s version of Sgt. Pepper… or something like that.”
