Foo Fighters premier out-of-this-world visual for new song “The Sky Is A Neighbourhood.”
Following on from the surprise release of the face-melting single “Run” back in June, Foo Fighters have just unveiled their follow-up, “The Sky Is A Neighbourhood” from their upcoming ninth studio album “Concrete and Gold.”
Described by Grohl as “the biggest thing sonically that we’ve ever done,” “The Sky Is A Neighbourhood” certainly does not disappoint. Boasting a chugging, floor-stomping mid-tempo, the song pays homage to the band’s favourite releases from their youth – with Grohl’s colossal screams being supported by a choir in the chorus and a soundscape of dizzying heights at its crescendo, the song’s grand scale wouldn’t feel out of place on a Floyd or Zeppelin epic.
The band have also released an equally ambitious video to match. Directed by Grohl, the four minute visual comes as a tiny nugget of sci-fi gold, complete with cascading other-worldly lights, creepy floating children and even Grohl and co. with glowing blue eyes.
If that isn’t enough, the band have also launched a constellation viewer! Using an iPhone or Android phone, fans can have constellations in the night sky identified around them in real time all while being serenaded by tiny Foos at the bottom of their screens.
