The story of Georgie
Singing wasn’t always going to be a part of Georgie’s future. Growing up, she dreamed of being a professional footballer but coming across her uncle’s record collection and a guitar soon changed everything. Her career started by performing in pubs on open nights and at times, to the detriment of her academic career. It wasn’t long before she found a new opportunity when she was noted by singer and songwriter Jake Bugg. Her and Bugg have often performed together since.
Last year, at the behest of singer Matthew E. White, Georgie flew out to Virginia in the US to record Company of Thieves. White, infatuated with her talent, has also produced the upcoming track Wildcats. Since then, she’s supported acts like Blossoms and Jack Savoretti. The little girl who once kicked around footballs with the ambitions of being a professional footballer could never have predicted the ride that life would take her on.
You can see Georgie at several venues around the UK throughout February and March, supporting Bugg. The two artists kick off the UK tour on the 19th of February in Glasgow and it comes to a close on the 13th of March in Brighton. Hampshire residents will be overjoyed to know she and Bugg are coming to Southampton Guildhall on the 11th of March. Tickets are still currently available.
