British singer songwriter John Paul Cooper, more popularly known as JP.Cooper is set to release his debut album this coming September, following the hotly anticipated release with a 10 date UK tour this October.
Raised Under Grey Skies will be released on Island Records on the 22nd September, with his tour commencing only two weeks later on the 7th of October at Birmingham’s O2 Institute.
JP has been putting in work and despite his debut album having just being scheduled, the talented Cooper already has two UK top ten singles to his name: Jonas Blue’s hit Perfect Strangers which JP co-wrote, and his own radio smash hit single September Song, a tune which has already racked up an unbelievable 10 million single sells worldwide and over one billion streams.
Prior to this album, JP has already seen his fair share of success. For starters, the man’s talents are already known internationally, going two-times Platinum in Sweden and Ireland, Platinum in the Netherlands and UK; and Gold in Denmark, Norway, Finland, France, Italy and Canada. As if this wasn’t enough, Cooper is also no stranger to sold out shows, having performed to packed-out crowds at London’s The Village Underground, Koko, 02 Forum Kentish Town and more recently, the 02 Shepherd’s Bush Empire. Phew!
The album Raised Under Grey Skies includes the smash hit ‘September Song’ as well as other songs currently trending, including a collaboration with one of grime’s heaviest-hitters Stormzy.
‘I’m incredibly excited to be able to say that my debut album is finally coming out’, says JP.
‘It’s been a life time in the making and a long journey from playing to a handful of people at Manchester open mic nights, to a sold out European tour ending with an incredible night at Shepherd’s Bush Empire! The most amazing thing is that so many people have been there since day one and I can’t thank them enough for their support.’
