Fresh from being shortlisted for ‘Best Major Festival’ at the UK Festival awards, Victorious Festival recently announced first wave of acts for the event over August Bank Holiday. Leading the way for this year’s line up are the legendary Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds (main photo), rock royalty Manic Street Preachers and Brit Award – winning artist and producer Mark Ronson. Plus, this year Victorious are proud to present another very special Sunday afternoon guest, Will Young.
Last year Victorious Festival welcomed over 100,000 visitors to their stunning site on Southsea Seafront and this year looks set to be bigger than ever with a line up that is brimming with some of music’s most memorable names.
With an Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Song Collection and years of critically acclaimed songwriting Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will headline the Sunday as Victorious Festivals most iconic headliner to date. Iconic status is the order of the day with The Manic Street Preachers celebrating the 20th Anniversary of their triple platinum selling album ‘Everything Must Go’, headlining the Saturday.
Collectively The Coral, The Levellers, Echo & the Bunnymen, Ash and Space will boost the line up with their own brands of alternative indie & rock. While, hotly tipped newcomer Italian-English Acoustic artist Jack Savoretti, singer of hit single ‘Catapult’ will be a great addition to the already strong line up. Joining him will be singer-songwriter Emmy the Great who has been producing poetic lyrics since 2006.
Festival Director, Andy Marsh, commented, “We’re so excited to be announcing this line up. It’s taken a lot of hard work but we couldn’t be more pleased to be bringing Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and The Manics to Portsmouth. It’s going to be an incredible year for both Victorious and Portsmouth.”
With tickets currently set at the incredible early bird price of £25 per day, Victorious Festival continues to be one of the best value festivals in the UK.
