OMD

OMD are set to release their new album in September! The band have also announced an 18-date UK tour in October and November.

Described by the’ Quietus’ as “not just one of the best synth bands but one of the best bands ever”, OMD are back on the road again, come this October, with their new tour which is in support of their brand new album: ‘The Punishment Of Luxury’. This follows having played a triumphant sold out show at the Royal Albert Hall in May 2016.

The release of this album makes it their thirteenth studio album to date. ‘The Punishment Of Luxury’ is the follow up album to their 2013 release, ‘English Electric’. This album included tracks such as ‘Metroland’, ‘The Final Song’ and ‘Helen Of Troy’. These songs, just many of the others capture the very essence of the band and their music. Tie that in with fantastic lyrics and you get…well, you get OMD.

OMD

This album takes its name from an 1891 painting by the Italian Giovani Segantini and contains everything from the Kraftwerkian ‘Isotype’ and ‘Robot Man’ to the blue eyed soul ballads of ‘One More Time’ and ‘The View From Here’ as well as more traditional OMD songs like ‘Kiss Kiss Kiss Bang Bang Bang’ and the synth heavy title track.

Fancy a preview of this album, before the September release? Of course, you do. Well, just for you, here is ‘La Mitrailleuse’.

So, don’t miss out on seeing this great band that has influenced other illustrious bands and singers such as The Killers, The xx and LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy. Get tickets now.
