Hercule Poirot returns to the Silver Screen to solve the murder mystery set on the Orient Express.
Agatha Christie’s classic tale is remade under direction of Kenneth Branagh. He also plays the lead role – one Branagh has dreamed of playing before.
With the classic cane, tailored suit and moustache, Hercule Poirot’s puts his ‘little grey cells’ to work as he journeys on the world famous train, the Orient Express.
When a passenger is murdered and the train becomes stranded by an avalanche, its down to the Belgian detective to figure out who the murderer is.
The all-star cast lead a classic whodunnit. Dame Judy Dench, Daisy Ridley, Josh Gad and Johnny Depp are amongst the cast who act as passengers on the infamous train.
The visual effects and the camera work of the film is stunning. A lot of research went into how the train should look from the 1920s. Anyone who is already a fan of Agatha Christie will know the story, so the outcome will not be a surprise to them. To a new audience, this will be a storyline with plenty of surprises, twists and turns.
Fans have already said they were unhappy with some of the adaptation. However it is a chance to introduce the next generation to Poirot, and this film does it well.
