Seán McGowan will release his debut album ‘Son of the Smith’ on the 11th May 2018
In the run up to this, McGowan has released an intimate interview about the reasoning behind the album.
The interview features a stirring solo acoustic session of the artist performing an unreleased track Springhill. It opens up about his family life, football and what to expect from his upcoming album release.
The name of the album, is from his surname McGowan which in Gaelic roughly translates to ‘Son of the Smith’.
This exclusive video was shot just hours before Seán took to the stage of the hallowed Shepherd’s Bush Empire earlier this year. Giving us a taster of the new album ahead, Sean also released the single Off The Rails.
McGowan has conceded that the album is a long time coming and that he has been working on it for 7-8 years. He has finally been able to put things into words about how he feels about music and where he’s been. He is deeply proud of the album and can’t wait for it to be released.
McGowan will be going on tour from May until June at various locations across the UK.
You can pre order the album on CD, LP and digital here.
