SoCo Music Project and Hightown Studios are coming together to present the best musicians and performers Southampton has to offer with Southampton Sampler Vol. 1.
It’s the launch of what promises to be a series of collaborations and showcase of upcoming local talent. Southampton Sampler Vol. 1 is launching on vinyl this Thursday, February 1st. Over 100 entries were considered and ten lucky acts were chosen to showcase the talent Southampton has.
Director of SoCo Music Project, Matt Salvage, is beyond excited for people to hear the final end product. He said, “it’s a fantastic album, which really deserves to be on every local’s music shelves because of how perfectly it highlights the eclectic sound of the music coming out of our city.“
In addition, each chosen artist recorded their tracks at SoCo Music Project’s recording studios, with the assistance of Tali Trow who mixed and mastered the music.

Finally, to celebrate the album’s release, local venue The Joiners are hosting an event this Thursday, the 1st of February. The event starts at 19:30 and tickets are £3 for students and only £5 for others. All the featured bands will be playing and copies of the vinyl will be available for purchase also. All the proceeds go back into supporting music making in the community.
