Ward Thomas 2017 Tour!!

Ward Thomas 2017 Tour!!

ward thomas

Following their September album release and numerous appearances across the UK (which can be read about here), country twins Catherine and Lizzy Ward Thomas have just announced their next tour – 22 dates across April and May next year. The tour will include their biggest headline show to date which will see the twins taking centre stage at The Shepherds Bush Empire on 10th May next year.

Keeping it in the family, the country twins made history when their major label debut album Cartwheels reached the top in the UK album charts, becoming the first british country act to achieve the feat. As if that wasn’t enough, the album went on to stay in the top five for three consecutive weeks.

This 2017 tour was announced following the success of their completely sold-out gig dates in October which saw the two perform in numerous venues, including somewhat locally at Bristol’s The Fleece on 21st October, which can be read about here.

Their “devastating title track” (Sunday Times, Culture) Cartwheels was the beginning of their album, the writing of the track sparking further inspiration for the rest of their tracks. The song tells the unfortunate tale of a young lover who refuses to accept that a relationship is over. The song is imbued with a beautiful sense of yearning through the sisters’ combined vocals.

The Ward Thomas twins released their first album independently in 2014, an LP titled ‘From Where We Stand’ which ended up selling over 25,000 copies in the UK alone. Their upcoming 2017 tour will see them perform locally at Portsmouth’s Pyramid’s Centron Friday 12th May.
