The Wombats are back and their new album is out this Friday, 9th of February!

The Wombats have revealed a brand new track from their forthcoming album Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life The single, called Black Flamingo which will be released this Friday, February 9th, via Kobalt Music Recordings.

Produced by Mark Crew (Bastille, Rag’n’Bone Man) and Catherine Marks (Wolf Alice), the album finds The Wombats “pushing the boundaries of alt-pop innovation with a lush, ultramodern indie soundscape, irrepressible hooks and tragi-comic lyricism belied by a newfound maturity and moving emotional depth.”

The band’s last album, 2015’s Glitterbug, which debuted in the Top 5 UK Album Chart and Billboard 100, received over 200 million digital streams. This surpassed the band’s hit singles Let’s Dance To Joy Division, Moving To New York and Kill The Director, tracks that established them as an act that could still keep pumping out the very best in tunes.

2017 saw the Liverpool-bred trio headline Brixton Academy, an event which sold-out in under 24 hours. The Wombats also had two sold-out nights at the Sydney Opera House in the same year. Last week, the band closed a sold-out headline tour of North America, and will be joining Weezer and The Pixies across their summer 2018 co-headline tour of the US. March 2018 will see an almost sold-out UK tour on the dates detailed below, followed by a European tour through April. There are still tickets available for their March 27th London show, at the Alexandra Palace.
